Saturday June 5th

Saturday was an open boat combo trip with Dave Bukner from Telford, PA , John Deno  and Rob from South Amboy and Jimmy Lee from Columbia, PA.  We headed back to the spot that looked so good the day before and caught one nice bass and missed another.  By 7:30am it was all over so we switched over to wreck fishing.  Our first drop started off good but quickly petered out to a very slow pick, every time I was about to pull the plug and go to another spot one of the guys would pull up a keeper.   Although I hate to leave fish to find fish we did just that and it turned out to be a good move.  My second drop was a very small low lying wreck that took a little bit of effort to get on but once we did quality size fish started to fly over the rail including a 4lb 7oz sea bass and an estimated 8 to 10 pound blackfish which was released.

Friday June 4th

Out Friday with Andy Pantelides and friends for a day of Striper and Wreck fishing.  Found and made bait fairly quickly and then went on the hunt.  The bait and bass were holding very close to the beach and it looked perfect, I thought for sure it was going to erupt into an all out bite any second.  Long story short I saw one fish getting boated and heard a few on the radio but that was it.  I stayed with the bass a little longer then I typically would have, because it looked so good both on the surface and on the fish finder.  When we made the switch over to wreck fishing the bite was there but it was not the drop and reel fishing we had the week before but the guys did manage to pull a decent catch together.
